“On a scale of one to ten in terms of ease of use, practicality, and
creativity, I would definitely rate this book a ten.”

I am ESL teacher for elementary school age students in Toronto,
Ontario, Canada. My past experience is teaching English as a Second
Language in Grades 2-6 for the Toronto District School Board.
The book is beautifully laid out and all of the units that you have
provided are easily adaptable to both a self-contained ESL classroom
and a core classroom that contains ESL students.
I have actually done the Alphabet book activity with my own students, which was quite
enjoyable for us. The finished products were something that the
students were very proud of and it was a good source of support to
take home so that they could review the alphabet with their families.
The Alphabet Assessment rubric was quite easy to use, and could be
easily used with various levels of groupings of students.

I have utilized workbooks for ESL learners, but never one as thorough
as your book. You have certainly covered many areas of the curriculum,
with the option of teachers making their own extensions or
incorporating these projects into their delivery of the curriculum. On
a scale of one to ten in terms of ease of use, practicality, and
creativity, I would definitely rate this book a ten. Many ESL and core
classroom teachers would make very good use of this book in Canada.
I think that many school districts in Ontario with a high population of ESL
students would consider purchasing this book for their schools with
ESL programs.

Thank you for allowing me to look over the book, and review it from
an ESL teacher’s point of view.
